Leadership

Elder teaching

Our Session

A “Presbyterian” church is one that is governed by a plurality of “elders.” The pastor’s role is that of a “teaching elder”) and the other elders are referred to as “ruling elders.” These men are appointed for office by the congregation and together have oversight over the life, health, and ministry of the church.

Deacons

In addition to the office of Elder, the Scriptures designate the office of Deacon as an ongoing ministry in the church.  Deacons are called to show the compassion of Christ in various ministries of mercy toward church members and neighbors on behalf of the church. To accomplish this, they have the responsibility of using the gifts and resources entrusted to their care for the assistance of those in need or distress.  The Deacons also have oversight of the various service ministries of the church.
