Ministries

Our focus in ministry is the same as that given by the Lord Jesus: to glorify God by making disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28:18-20).  This disciple-making mandate not only provides a motivation for involvement in worldwide missions, it also shapes the local ministry of Christ Presbyterian Church.  We make disciples according to the plan outlined in Ephesians 4:11-12.  Through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God by gifted leadership, individual believers are “equipped” and built up for doing the work of the ministry.  This shapes everything we do.  Preaching and teaching God’s Word, the Bible, builds up believers, evangelizes the lost, and expands Christ’s Kingdom.

Christian Education

Christ’s commission to his Church is to “make disciples”.  This is at the heart of the life and ministry of Christ Presbyterian Church.  Our Christian Education Committee oversees the disciple-making ministry of the church. Through ministries like our Sunday School, Bible studies, small group ministries, and Sunday evening teaching service, we are engaged in making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Membership Care & Mercy

The Deacons of Christ Presbyterian Church oversee the care of the members of the church and to others whom the Lord brings our way. Our deacons not only care for the physical property of the church and the other “hands on” aspects of ministry, they are primarily tasked with caring for the physical needs of our church membership.  Helping folks during times of crisis, visiting the sick, assisting families during the various stages of life, working “behind the scenes” in so many vital areas are some of the ways our deacons care for the physical and material needs of the church.

Youth

"Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself."  (Acts 2:38-29 ESV)  We believe that the visible church includes both believers and their children.  Therefore, we are committed to teaching our children God's Word and to helping them understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  This is why we believe that our children are the proper recipients of the sacrament of baptism.

They participate in corporate worship with all the members of the church and are instructed in Christian doctrine in their homes.  We do this in anticipation of their public confession of faith in Jesus Christ as they grow and mature and become communicant members invited to participate in the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. We also recognize that there are youth of non-believers in our community.  These youth with their families are in desperate need of God's Word.  They need to hear a message which is counter-cultural, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Our ministry to youth and their families is one rooted in the historic faith of the Christian church.

Missions

Christ has called his Church to make disciples of all nations. Christ Presbyterian Church seeks to be faithful to this commission by engaging in and supporting various world-wide and local mission works.  Through denominational mission agencies, we are involved in Christ’s work around the world. We also support a number of individual missionaries.  Our Missions/Outreach Committee also works to advance the gospel through local and regional ministries.
